As much as Nigerian producers are improving a great deal, sometimes the music acts themselves have got to stop carrying out acts of folly. I took my time and though this is not the conclusive list of the crappiest remixes in recent time, here are MY OWN, aka The Prodigy’s top five disastrous Nigerian Remixes. Ever.

5) Davido ft Akon – Dami duro rmx

Ok… Everyone knows music these days isn’t really working for Akon abroad. So, what does he do? He jumps on the African scene. Nigeria precisely. He did that mediocre song with P-square (Chop my money remix) and like that wasn’t enough, he then does this disaster of a track. Totally ruining the memory of the original song. Smh..the end is truly here..true advice ako?…try setting up a barber shop….with all of those lines on your hair…you should get negros trooping in!! jes saying.

4) Iyanya ft D’banj – Kukere rmx

i’m not really going to dwell on how much a disaster this remix was…but on the fact that both acts have not been able to churn out anything close to a hit since they parted ways with their producers… (D’tunes + Don jazzy) respectively but the producers have gone on to do the antithesis. D”ttunes with Sean tizzle and Don jazzy with the Mavin crew. I don’t know if they amassed some of the FC Benfica curse for themselves (i.e Iyanya and D’banj) but 100years is a great while…to wait…#nuffsaid.

3) Oritse Femi ft D”banj… Double Wahala Remix

I personally think D’banj goes to studios and more or less hounds these artistes…he probably is like “oshe..ejanla is here…a remix we must do..kokolet want it…(and the profane profanity goes on and on…) funny how these artistes succumb to Skibanj all the time.

Femi the victim this time, has basically had a shaky career. He gets it right this time, rather than capitalize on this by mad promotion of the track, he features D’banj. Poor work for his managerial team i must say. Double wahala for both of them.

2) Olamide ft *drumroll* D’banj First Of All Remix

I always thought two erratic beings could never work side by side…little wonder…olamide didn’t last on d’banj’s label…I totally understand mates…a rush of blood to the head…you recorded that trash and put it out…whatever…don’t let it happen ever again…cheers!.

“Islam Has No Part To Play With Terrorism”- President Goodluck Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday in Abuja restated that the activities of terrorist groups across the world had nothing to do with Islam.

The president stated this when a delegation of the Muslim community led by Vice President Namadi Sambo paid him Sallah homage at his official residence in the Presidential Villa.

Jonathan maintained that there was nothing Islamic about the atrocities being perpetrated by Boko Haram in Nigeria or Islamic State (ISIS) militants in Iraq who claimed to be fighting for the propagation of Islam.

“What is happening globally now has no religious basis. Only yesterday, a British aid worker was slaughtered by ISIS and that is not Islamic.
“Boko Haram killing innocent children and women in market places, in mosques and schools definitely has nothing to do with religion,” he said.

The president noted that this year’s Sallah celebration was significant, citing certain natural coincidences which, according to him, showed that something good was happening to Nigeria.

This year is quite significant in terms of celebration of Sallah, because the Day of Arafat coincided with a Friday, and from what I was told it takes a long time to have that coincidence.

And remembering the fact that 2014 is our centenary year, it shows that something good is happening to this country.

We may have our challenges as other nations, but when things begin to happen in a particular way, I begin to see light at the end of the tunnel.

A number of things that have to do with our belief system suppose to encourage us to see our neighbours as ourselves,he said.

While congratulating Muslims all over the world, the president urged them to use the period to seek God’s mercy for those hiding behind religion to perpetrate evil.

He restated his belief in Nigeria, emphasising that the country had a lot to offer not only to its citizens but also to the entire world.

Whatever obstacles we see are very ephemeral and part of history of nation building.

Popular Pastor Caught P***nts Down With Church Member In Hotel Room

It was broadcast on a news programme in Kenya, and appears to show Anglican pastor Charles Githinji half dressed in a hotel room with a pretty young woman. Another man, claiming to be the woman's husband, bursts into the room with a television crew in tow.



The sheepish pastor scrambles for his clothes, but not before being quizzed by the people behind the camera. Kenyans began tweeting about the story using the hashtag#PantsDown. The phrase has appeared more than 2,500 times in the last few days, though not every instance was related to the pastor's story.
It was not an isolated incident. Similar videos on YouTube - all of which appear to expose Kenyan pastors in similar situations - have racked up hundreds of thousands of views.

In Githinji's case, some are convinced that a team of people colluded in an attempt to entrap the pastor, and make money from the footage. "It was stage managed," says Jackson Njeru, a prominent Kenyan blogger who created the controversial Facebook page Deadbeat Kenya. "When I watched the video, something was not adding up. The lady was smiling. She was laughing," he tells BBC Trending. He believes the woman, her "husband" and the television crew were working in collaboration - one of a number of groups that deliberately target pastors and other powerful individuals.

Ruth Nesoba, a BBC journalist based in Kenya, says "apparently what is emerging is a clique of freelance cameramen who are going round looking for these kind of stories." News outlets pay good money for the footage, she adds, as the stories attract wide audiences.

It isn't yet clear whether Githinji's encounter with the woman arose organically, or he was targeted in a sting operation. Either way, Nesoba thinks that for many Kenyans, it isn't the most important question. "People are asking: 'Whether he was lured or not, what is a pastor doing in bed with his pants down with a woman who is not is wife?' "

The Anglican Church in Kenya has now launched an official investigation.

Armed Robbers Steals 600 Sallah Rams and Cow In Zamfara

Well since armed robbers started stealing fowl and others, am not really surprised on this particular development. In case you still don’t know where am driving at, reports have it that no fewer than 600 rams and cows were carted away by armed bandits in Billashe village in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Thursday, 2 October, 2014.

               Daily Trust reports that residents of the village informed that the incident occurred in the night, lamenting that the incident will prevent many of them from slaughtering rams during the Eid-el-Kabir festival holding today, Saturday, 4 October, 2014.

It was gathered that the bandits carried out the robbery operation on a house-to-house basis.
A source stated that some residents of the affected villages went after the bandits and recovered their animals.
 “You know Eid el-Kabir is approaching and it is a tradition for families in rural Zamfara to rear rams and other domestic animals for sacrifice and sale, but the bandits have disrupted the plans by their action.
Some residents of the village fled the area for safety and I accommodated two of them in my house,” a resident told newsmen.
 While confirming the incident, the spokesman of Zamfara state police command, Lawan Abdullahi, informed that they were working with other security outfits to recover the stolen animals.
Abdullahi added that cattle rustling still exists in the area because of the difficult terrain in most areas in the state, saying most of the villages are inaccessible due to bad roads and poor telephone networks.
He, however, added that between June and August this year, the command in collaboration with the military was able to recover 2,219 stolen cows.
The police boss informed that the Divisional Police Officer attached to the local government and a suspected cattle rustler escaped lynching by a mob in Nassarawa Godel village  earlier in the week.

Man jailed after killing pal who 'poked' his girlfriend on Facebook

A man who killed his pal after finding out he 'poked' his girlfriend on Facebook, has been jailed for four years.

Scott Humphrey repeatedly punched Richard Rovetto during a row in a cab on the way back from a stag do.

Nottingham Crown Court heard that Humphrey, 27, angrily asked Mr Rovet "If you're such a good friend why did you poke my missus?"

Sending someone a virtual 'poke' on Facebook is often seen as a way of flirting with them.

Prosecutor Gareth Gimson told the hearing the argument came to a head as the taxi stopped in Top Valley, Nottingham.

He said Humphrey struck 29-year-old Mr Rovetto, causing him to bleed from the nose - then delivered the fatal blow, knocking his friend to floor and causing him to bang his head on the pavement.

Father-of-one Mr Rovetto, of Arnold, Nottingham, suffered devastating head injuries and died in hospital hours later. Humphrey fled the scene but later handed himself in to police.

The court heard the friends had enjoyed a stag do in Mansfield before falling out. Mr Gimson said: "The taxi driver recalls Scott Humphrey was accusing Richard Rovetto of contacting his girlfriend in the past and doing so via Facebook.

"The expression used is a 'poke'. Scott Humphrey said to Richard Rovetto, 'If you're such a good friend then why did you poke my missus?'

"Richard Rovetto said he didn't know it was his girlfriend. The exchange became more heated." Humphrey, of Bestwood Park, Nottingham, admitted manslaughter and was jailed for four years and four months.

Judge Gregory Dickinson QC, sentencing, told him: "When you and him went out that evening, violence and death were the furthest things from your mind.

"You didn't intend to kill him. Part of the tragedy is that it's left to chance what happens. There will be a fight like this somewhere tonight and the person will get up and go home and the police will never hear about it."

Robert Egbuna, defending, said: "The defendant is genuinely remorseful about his actions. He will never forget that day. As soon as Scott Humphrey heard about what had happened to Richard Rovetto, he was devastated.

"He has been very candid and admitted this offence from the very start."

Speaking after the hearing, Mr Rovetto's brother-in-law Jason Burley-Evans, 42, of Bestwood Park, said: "This was a waste of a life. We feel the sentence wasn't the justice we wanted for Richard. He was a much-loved person and it will be hard for us all to move on."

Google says it has deleted “tens of thousands” of naked pictures of celebrities that had been stolen and published online. 

The statement comes after a group of Hollywood entertainment lawyers threatened to sue the web giant for “violating privacy.” The lawyers, acting on behalf of female celebrities whose images were hacked and posted online even though exact names were not disclosed, threatened to address Google’s “failure to remove the pictures.”

According to them, Google was “making millions and profiting from the victimisation of women” by allowing the pictures to be displayed on a host of Google-owned services, including video-sharing site YouTube and blogging platform BlogSpot. The LA-based team threatened to sue Google for $100 million.

However, in their response, Google insisted it responds to privacy breach requests “within hours,” and confirmed it had already closed “hundreds of accounts.”

Woman Marries HERSELF after Being Single for 6 Years (Photos)

Grace Gelder was so fed up with the dating scene and single life that she decided to become the first person in Britain to marry HERSELF.

Grace decided to commit to the most important person in her life, 'proposed' to herself last November on a park bench and staged a full wedding ceremony with 50 guests. According to her, after being
single for six years she had built up a brilliant relationship with herself - and creating that bond with someone else seemed like too much hard work.

Inspired by the Björk song Isobel, which includes the line, 'My name's Isobel, married to myself', the Londoner said the lyric struck a chord with her and it was then she decided to walk solo down the aisle.

Grace bought a dress, a ring, rehearsed vows and eventually wed in a farmhouse in rural Devon watched by her sister and friends -sealing the deal by planting a kiss on a mirror. Speaking to the Guardian, she said: 

"A few did comment, in a light-hearted way, that it was a bit narcissitic. Obviously, if you have just announced you’re marrying yourself, it is plainly a statement of self-love, and I was under no illusion how self-indulgent that might appear. But I was completely comfortable with my motivations. I’d been on a journey of personal development using meditation, dance and performance to increase my self-awareness. Included in this was a Shakti Tantra programme focused on sexuality and how this was bound up with making agreements with yourself and other people. 

Sitting on that park bench, it dawned on me that a self-marriage ceremony witnessed by other people would potentially be this massively powerful means of making those agreements stick."

 

Grace was wed by her friend Tiu - a celebrant - who backed her plans and said the deal would set her up for a new phase of life. But Grace suffered a case of the pre-wedding jitters only a month before the big day and had to be convinced she was doing the right thing.

Although the wedding holds no legal ground, Grace is glad she is no longer a 'single' lady.
She added: 

"It felt like a really big deal saying my vows, which were mostly about me promising to take more risks in matters of the heart. I really don’t see it as any kind of feminist statement, but creating a wedding of this kind on my own terms felt incredibly empowering."
